How to run TF2 MvM Server with Quickplay

First, follow the instructions in here:

http://wiki.teamfortress.com/wiki/Dedicated_server_configuration

Then, what you need to know for MvM and QuickPlay:

You need to add

and

(the later is not required, but it will make your server run only in matchmaking mode, but it will NOT allow manual connects) to your config (server.cfg).

You also need a “TF Gameserver account”, which you can get easily by following these steps:

  • Log on to your (personal) Steam account on your computer. Start up TF2.
  • Open up the console (usually with the ` key)
  • Type:

Your game console will then output something similar to this:

Set these convars on your game server to have it log in and receive benefits:

Take the last 2 lines

and paste them into your server config (server.cfg).

Next up, you need to set-up your mapcycle.txt to only contain MvM maps. As of writing this, they are:

Now, simply run your server while booting it directly into a MvM map with a limit of 32 players (this IS required!).

Color Chooser – A simple way to bookmark colors

I’ve been looking for a while for a simple tool or page that just allows me to bookmark some colors or create a simple palette without having to start up a heavy tool like a complete image editor.

I naturally thought of a web page that I could just bookmark and create a folder under my bookmarks for different color-palettes I need. When I couldn’t find one, I just decided to write my own.

Check it out at http://color.linge-ma.ws.

It’s nothing fancy. It just colors the whole page with the selected color AND it generates a favicon for that specific color, so you can see it under your bookmarks.

Bootstrap – a custom template for OSCam

Due to lack of user interest (and my own, to be fair), this project is currently frozen/dead. The OSCam WebUI advanced a lot and this is no longer compatible with the latest OSCam versions.

I’ve been working, lately, on a OSCam template called Boostrap. OSCam is an “Open Source Conditional Access Module” software. If you ever heard about CCCam, you most likely heard about OSCam, too.

If you’d like to check it out, please have a look at the OSCam-Boostrap @ Google-Code page that I set up.

WoW: Mists of Pandaria #15650 Addons Enabled

Here’s the latest .exe patched for addon support. Download: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/120650/MoP_beta/exe/WoW_15650_Addons.rar.

DISCLAIMER: As always be careful with files downloaded from the internet. Also, keep in mind that it’s against Blizzard’s Terms and Conditions to use 3rd party modifications to their game code and they may revoke your beta access and the usual crap bla bla bla. Use at your own risk.

WoW: MoP 15640 CrashFix + Addons

If you keep crashing with error #132 on World of Warcraft Mists of Pandaria Beta, build number 15640 AND you want in-game Addon support, follow these instructions:

DISCLAIMER: As always be careful with files downloaded from the internet. Also, keep in mind that it’s against Blizzard’s Terms and Conditions to use 3rd party modifications to their game code and they may revoke your beta access and the usual crap bla bla bla.

  1. Download http://dl.dropbox.com/u/120650/MoP_beta/exe/WoW_15640_CrashFix_Addon.rar
  2. Unpack it in the World of Warcraft Beta folder
  3. Start the game using WoW_CrashFix_Addon.exe, NOT with the Launcher or with the original WoW.exe

If you’re experiencing issues while patching your game on the next beta build (whenever that will be), remove the WoW_CrashFix_Addon.exe file from the game directory.

I take no credit in this .exe, it’s merely a personal mirror of the CrashFix file found on OwnedCore.com by TOM_RUS, modified by myself, according to his instructions, for Addon support.

Keep in mind that A LOT of addons will be broken and will not function without a bit of patching up. And remember to tick the “Load Out of Date addons” checkbox.

A few addons will work like on live if you install this “sLegacy” addon that fixes some renamed/removed functions from Live:

Other fixed addons:

Other fixed and Work-in-Progress addons can be found at the OwnedCore.com thread.
